Phi Alpha Theta Western Regional Conference, March 30, 2019

The Western Regional Phi Alpha Theta Conference, sponsored by the Alpha Omicron Chi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, will take place on the campus of Dixie State University on Saturday, March 30th, 2019. This conference will offer undergraduate and graduate students the chance to present their original research to an audience of their peers and subject scholars.

Dr. Michael Decker, Executive Director of Phi Alpha Theta, will be the keynote speaker at the conference.

The conference committee welcomes proposals from all areas and subfields of history. Presenters do not have to be members of Phi Alpha Theta to participate. In addition to our invitation to your colleges and universities, we would also like you to extend an invitation to the Community Colleges.

Undergraduate and graduate students interested in presenting are invited to submit a proposal to by Friday, February 1, 2019. Please fill out and return this “Proposal” form. The conference committee welcomes proposals for pre-constituted panels of 3-4 speakers (submit all individual Proposal form and a 100-word rationale for the panel together).

Notification of acceptance will occur by February 15, 2019 and accepted participants will have until March 1st to submit completed papers. Prizes will be awarded to best undergraduate and best graduate papers presented at the Conference.

Lastly, we are very pleased to announce Dr. Michael J. Decker, Executive Director of Phi Alpha Theta, will be our keynote speaker.
